KUYA J’s: A Homey-Casual Diner

Looking for a place that gives you that homey-cozy feeling while eating your favorite Filipino dish is never a problem with Kuya J’s!

Kuya J is one of those restaurants that started as a small eatery along the streets of Escario. Because of its consistent mouthwatering dishes, the eatery was known because of their diners. Word of Mouth spreads like wildfire.

Never go to Kuya J alone. Always bring your family or your friends when you dine here. Kuya J definitely offers you generous servings at a very affordable cost.

During our very recent visit to Kuya J, we were about three who dine. Considering the appetite of the people I’m eating with, we ordered a lot of food. We had one dish for each of us and a rice platter.

For our soup, we had their Ginataang Monggo. This costs us only Php 150.00. Also, it’s more than the 3 of us can consume. What I like about their Ginataang Monggo is how the Gata blended into the soup. For most cases, I really didn’t like eating Ginataang Monggo because of its weird after-taste. This Ginataang Monggo made me love Gata as a perfect mixture to Monggo.

As our appetizer, we had their Grilled Scallops for Php 165.00. The price was somewhat the same with the other restaurants. But the thing that may their scallops’ top notch among the other scallops in the other restaurants that I had dined was their abundance of cheese and butter!

Our main course was their Crispy Pata! We had their regular-size pata for Php 380.00. Not the best Pata I’ve had but it is the second best pata I’ve tasted. It had the most meat so far but the taste does not capture my taste buds. However, it was definitely crispy!

For our rice platter, I’ve been warned by my colleague before we ordered their Humbinagoongan Rice Platter that we couldn’t finish everything. It was good for 4 persons the least! This rice platter was mixed with pork humba meat and bagoong. The platter itself was already a meal! Definitely affordable also for only Php 195.00.

My overall experience at Kuya J was indeed epic! It’s the best place for dining with your family and friends!
